Logray (Ewok Medicine Man) – Vintage Star Wars
En una galaxia muy cercana hizo su aparición Logray, dentro de la décima ola de figuras asociadas a la saga de Star Wars, siendo la primera asociada a la colección “Return of the Jedi” y formando parte del cartón 65 back. Esta figura se lanzó en el año 1983 junto con las figuras de Admiral Ackbar, Luke Skywalker (Jedi Knight Outfit), Princess Leia Organa (Boushh Disguise), Gamorrean Guard, Emperor’s Royal Guard, Chief Chirpa, Klaatu, Rebel Commando, Weequay, Squid Head, General Madine, Bib Fortune, Ree-Yees, Biker Scout, Lando Clarissian (Skiff Guard Disguise) y Nien Nunb.
Esta figura apareció oculta en la primera versión del cartón que contiene en la parte trasera 65 figuras de la línea Return of The Jedi en el año 1983. Esto se dio porque se quería mantener en secreto estos personajes que harían su aparición en las escenas de Endor.
El estreno del Regreso del Jedi fue en mayo de 1983, en que ya se pusieron a la vista en los nuevos cartones de la misma serie 65 y las que vendrían.
1983 Kenner Commercial
Este comercial de Kenner del año 1983 se debe haber producido para el lanzamiento de la décima ola de figuras en que, entre otras, corresponden a Logray, Chief Chirpa y Biker Scout. Por este motivo, utilizan a Han Solo clásico y no su versión “In Trench Coat” que sería lanzada en la ola siguiente durante el año 1984.
Como un Ewok más
A falta de tener más Ewoks, Kenner recurría a quitarle accesorios a los existentes para tener más población. Así al querido Logray se le quitan todos los accesorios y pasa a ser un piloto Eowk para la Combat Glider.
In a galaxy very close by, Logray made his appearance within the tenth wave of figures associated with the Star Wars saga, being the first tied to the “Return of the Jedi” line and forming part of the 65-back. This figure was released in 1983 together with Admiral Ackbar, Luke Skywalker (Jedi Knight Outfit), Princess Leia Organa (Boushh Disguise), Gamorrean Guard, Emperor’s Royal Guard, Chief Chirpa, Klaatu, Rebel Commando, Weequay, Squid Head, General Madine, Bib Fortuna, Ree-Yees, Biker Scout, Lando Calrissian (Skiff Guard Disguise) and Nien Nunb.
This figure appeared hidden in the first version of the cardback that featured 65 figures from the Return of the Jedi line in 1983. This happened because these characters, who would appear in the Endor scenes, were meant to be kept secret.
The Return of the Jedi premiered in May 1983, at which point they were finally shown on the new 65-back cards and the ones that followed.
1983 Kenner Commercial
This 1983 Kenner commercial was likely produced for the release of the tenth wave of figures, which included Logray, Chief Chirpa, and Biker Scout, among others. For this reason, they used the classic Han Solo and not the “In Trench Coat” version, which would be released in the following wave in 1984.
Like One More Ewok
When Kenner needed more Ewoks, they resorted to removing accessories from existing ones to increase the population. This is how dear Logray, stripped of all his accessories, became an Ewok pilot for the Combat Glider.
