Códigos de Fábrica en Cardbacks
A partir del cardback 41 de la colección Empire Strikes Back comenzó a aparecer un código, generalmente al costado debajo de la prueba de compra (Proof of Purchase, POP), aunque también se ubicó en otras partes bajas del cardback. Estos códigos permiten identificar el origen de la fabricación de la figura en cuestión.
Desde el cartón 41 al 48 aparecen los siguientes códigos:
(1) K por la empresa Kader Industrial Co. Ltd. de Hong Kong.
(2) U por la empresa Uni Toys (H.K.) Limited de Hong Kong.
(3) S por la empresa Smile Industries Ltd. de Hong Kong/Macau.
Estos códigos cambiaron luego desde el cartón 48 en la colección Empire Strikes Back hasta el cartón 79 en la colección Return of the Jedi. Estos tuvieron una estructura en que la primera letra corresponde al lugar y la segunda a la fábrica. Por algún motivo esta segunda letra no es una referencia directa y se presenta lo que se resuelve de lo investigado.
(1) ME, Macau (¿Qualidux?). En el portal Imperial Gunnery he encontrado estas fotografías de aussiejames donde se puede ver claramente el código ME de Macau.
(2) TJ, Taiwan (Universal Manufacturers).
(3) HN, Hong Kong (Smile Industries Ltd. de Hong Kong/Macau).
(4) HT, Hong Kong y la fábrica es Uni Toys (H.K.) Limited.
(5) HG, Hong Kong y la fábrica es Kader Industrial Co. Ltd.
Es difícil saber si una figura fue hecha en Hong Kong, China o Macau. Muchas de las fábricas tenían su planta principal en Hong Kong pero con controles de calidad en Macao. Así también, por costos más bajo de personal varias se ubicaron en China, motivo por el que algunas COO aparecen con una barra mencionando China como país de origen. Junto con esto, en los cardback aparece el Made in China.
Uni Toys (H.K.) Limited
Con sede en Hong Kong y miembro del grupo Uni-Fortune Toys, participó en la producción de figuras desde los primeros de la línea Star Wars hasta la línea Ewoks. Al final de la era de Empire Strikes Back trasladaron la producción de los personajes de SW y ESB a Kader.
Uni Toys estaba integrado con las fábricas en China del grupo Uni-Fortune Toys. Desde hace años que trabajan con proyectos bajo licencia OEM.

Kader Industrial Co. Ltd.
Una fábrica de juguetes y plásticos con sede en Hong Kong desde el año 1948 que a lo largo de su historia se especializó en modelos de ferrocarriles a escala fina.

Starting with the 41‑back card of the Empire Strikes Back collection, a code began to appear, generally on the side below the Proof of Purchase (POP), although it was also placed in other lower areas of the cardback. These followed a structure in which the first letter corresponds to the location and the second to the factory. For some reason, this second letter is not a direct reference, and what is presented here is the result of what has been researched.

It is difficult to know whether a figure was made in Hong Kong, China, or Macau. Many factories had their main plant in Hong Kong but carried out quality control in Macau. Likewise, due to lower labor costs, several were located in China, which is why some COOs appear with a bar mentioning China as the country of origin. Along with this, the cardbacks feature “Made in China.”

Based in Hong Kong and a member of the Uni‑Fortune Toys group, it participated in the production of figures from the earliest Star Wars line through the Ewoks line. At the end of the Empire Strikes Back era, they transferred production of SW and ESB characters to Kader.
